Meet the Participants
Each of the young women you’ll meet here is actively pursuing her education with the support of the Luminarias program. Their journeys are shaped by family, culture, and community, and by the determination required to continue learning in environments where access to continued education is not always guaranteed for indigenous girls. These brief introductions are shared with care and consent, offering a glimpse into who they are today and who they hope to become.

How Sponsorship Matching Works
While you’re welcome to explore these introductions, sponsorship at Luminarias is not a self-selection process. Our staff take care to ensure every match is healthy, appropriate, and mutually supportive.
1. You express interest
Begin a sponsorship inquiry and share a little about yourself and your hopes for the relationship.
2. We share full profiles
Our staff will share a small number of detailed profiles — including interviews and academic backgrounds — for your consideration.
3. A thoughtful match is made
We take into account each student's preferences, personality, and stage of life to ensure the match supports her wellbeing and growth.
4. The relationship begins
With staff support and guidance, you begin your sponsorship journey — walking alongside a student through letters and updates.
